PKR Face
PKR is all about bringing a whole new level of human contact and interaction to online poker. One of the unique and exciting ways that we’re doing this is by using a piece of software to put player’s real faces into the game – we call it your PKR Face.
How does it work?
It works by identifying key features on a person’s face from a series of photographs. The software analyses images and plots out the position of facial features like the eyes, nose and mouth. Then it uses that information to generate your three dimensional PKR Face.
How do I get one?
Players can buy a PKR Face with PKR Points – loyalty points you earn for playing on PKR. For more information about PKR points click here.
Will my PKR Face look ‘just like me’?
For the most part, yes. The most important factor in producing a realistic looking PKR Face is the quality of the digital photos we receive (check below for guidelines). And remember, as with any piece of facial recognition software, the results are always going to be a best fit rather than an exact match.
The best photo’s make the best PKR Faces
Ideally we’d like three photos from you – just like the ones in the illustration below. One front image (a must) and, for best results, one of your left profile and right profile as well. The profile images are optional but do help us produce the most realistic results. And remember, the better quality picture you send us, the better your avatar will look.

For the best quality picture make sure that…
- Your mouth is closed and you’ve got a neutral (relaxed) expression.
- Your eyes are open and looking straight ahead.
- Your entire face is in the photo and that your hair is away from your face.
- You use a flash and don’t shine any other bright lights on your face.
- You send us colour images in JPEG, BMP, TIFF or TGA file formats and at least 640 x 480 pixels in size.
- The camera is held least 30 inches away from the face.
Please avoid…
- Wearing glasses (including sunglasses).
- Face paint (make-up is OK).
- Taking photos outdoors in daylight.
- Drawings of faces or other artistic renderings. They just don’t produce good results.
Also…
- Facial hair is OK
- If you have flashes on both sides of your camera they can both be used.
- Flash diffusers can also be used.
