Types of Game
There are two main poker variants that you can play on PKR: Texas hold’em and Omaha. These can be played on limit tables (the amount you can bet on each round is pre-determined), pot limit tables (the maximum bet is the size of the pot) and no limit (players can bet any amount up to the size of their stack).
Single Games: Single games (or cash games/ring games) are always running on PKR and can be bought into for a range of levels. The table stakes for each table are posted to the right of the table name in the lobby menu. All tables have a minimum buy-in that is a multiple of the lower level of table stake.
You can sit down on any table you like (provided there is a seat) and leave whenever you like. If there aren’t any seats available at a particular table you’d like to play on, you can join the waiting list by highlighting the table in the client then clicking on the ‘Join waiting list’ button on the bottom right of the screen. Your name will then appear in the waiting list for that table in the order that you joined and you’ll be informed as soon as a seat becomes available for you.
Tournaments: Multi-table tournaments can be found in the game lobby by clicking on the ‘Tournaments’ tab. PKR runs a range of multi-table tournaments with buy-ins starting at a dollar and prize pools reaching into the thousands. PKR also run regular freerolls. These tournaments are free to enter and offer a cash prize pool provided by PKR – check out the ‘Real Money’ > ‘Tournaments’ tab to see freeroll tournaments.
Sit & Go’s: Sit & Go’s are a lot like regular poker tournaments but, rather than starting at a scheduled time, they start as soon as the required number of players have signed up. At PKR you’ll see Sit & Go’s rolling 24/7 with a huge range of games to choose from including: six packs (a tournament with six players), ten seaters, fast paced turbos and more.
To sign up for a Sit & Go, visit to the lobby and select ‘Sit & Go tournaments’ from the middle row of tabs then scroll down to find a game that matches your mood. To register just open the table and select a seat.
Selecting a seat Once you’ve selected a game to play pick one of the available seats – you’ll see your character generated on the table. Seats in multi-table tournaments are assigned at random and you will be seated automatically at the start of the tournament.
